This charming, pale orange Akhnif was woven alongside its light blue counterpart in a small village in the Anti-Atlas region. Meticulously crafted by Rachida and her team, this striking flatweave features hand-embroidered motifs that add subtle character.

Perfect for the living room, in front of a piece of furniture or even into the hallway, thanks to its durability and easy maintenance.

This Akhnif kilim is single-sided, with thread ends intentionally left visible on the reverse. It is made from hand-dyed wool using traditional kilim weaving techniques, and is finished with fringe on both ends.

** All our rugs are unique and personally selected. They reflect the imprint of the Amazigh weaving tradition, the individual creativity of their weavers, and the subtle imperfections of hand weaving. We believe these qualities are what give them their character and charm. The sizes mentioned above do not include fringes.

Inspiration

Hand-woven flatweave rugs are thinner than their hand-knotted peers. They have a flat surface and are often double-sided. Just like the hand-knotting technique, hand-woven rugs take a lot of time and skilful craftwork to make. Most of our rugs are hand-knotted pile rugs, but we always have a selection of flatweave rugs available, too. A flatweave is a very good choice for under the dining table because it's easy to clean and chair legs don’t get stuck on it.
